Leaving tomorrow for Seattle, then Oregon then back to Seattle. Ruth has a dollhouse show next weekend and Emerald City Comic Con is the weekend after, and we thought it'd be fun to spend some time on the coast in between. Getting excited to go, even though we just got back from Arizona. The Oregon Coast contains three of the best places on earth: Robert's Books in Lincoln City, Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, and Doogers Seafood Restaurant in Seaside. We won't have enough time at these places, but I'm not sure there is enough time left in my lifetime to fully consume all of the used books, ice cream and seafood that would fully satiate me.
I've been working hard to get my new website done before we go. It isn't one-hundred percent yet, but I think it is passable. The new site is my optimistic venture to both be able to make some money from my photography and still be able to give it away (in modern post-web-2.0 lingo its "freemium"). I don't know how well it'll work, but I like the idea of giving my stuff away, but keeping the ad revenue from it for myself, something that Flickr, Facebook, Picassa, and all the rest won't allow. Also I kind have a thing against selling to the stock photography places, the terms of service I've read for some of them are pretty abusive to photographers. This way I can keep on selling ads alongside my pictures instead of getting one small lump sum from a stock company.
Here is the address for the new site http://gildedpixel.com/
I've only put a tiny fraction of the photos on so far, but I'll continue uploading as soon as we return from Seattle.
